Tips and hacks to choose the best hotel that fits your needs and budget. Whether it's a luxury, boutique or more affordable accommodation, click to learn what you need to know to make the most of your travel.

Even if you don’t travel a lot, but you want to make sure that you can get comfortable when you do, your decisions are crucial. And while you may think that we need to think about the flight or transport, one of the most important aspects is actually the hotel. Because you will always want to make sure that you are comfortable in your accommodation and that you feel it meets your needs.

So, ask yourself, what matters most to you? Let’s take a look at some of the things you can consider when it comes to picking the best possible hotel.

The Location

For a lot of people and first of all, you may find that the location is 100% the most important thing. Maybe you are someone that is traveling for business or you want to go sightseeing? Maybe you want a hotel near Fort Fordon, Georgia or some accommodation next to a major museum? You need to make sure that you are doing your research and that you’re looking at different options near to the places that you want to be in.

The Facilities

Then from here, maybe you’re someone that wants to think about the kind of facilities that you need from a hotel? Maybe the location matters and it’s kind of important, but you need to make sure that there are business facilities or a pool or a spa or anything else in the hotel? Then you are really going to want to make sure that you focus on this above all else.

The Rating

Now, this one won’t be important to everyone, but maybe it is for you. Maybe you want a highly rated hotel? Then when you’re looking for your accommodation, you absolutely have to be sure that you are finding a hotel that has the star rating that you are looking for, so that you know you will get the level of service you want.

The Restaurants

And if you’re a foodie, like me, you will absolutely want to make sure that you are looking at the restaurants the hotel has. Sure, you can eat outside of the hotel, but these days, some of the world’s best restaurants are inside hotels, so it’s absolutely worth considering this. After, food makes us happy 🙂

The Brand

But then maybe you want to stick to what you know? Or you want to know that you’re getting quality without having to do much research? Then why not think about the brand that you are booking with? When it comes to luxury hotel brands, you will often know what you’re getting when you stay with them. So when you find a brand that you like, you know that you can book with them and you will find that you get exactly what you were looking for – so this is always an easy option.

Reasons for Choosing a Hotel

I know vacation rentals have become quite popular these days, but I personally still prefer hotels when I travel. And I’ve always found way better deals with hotels than with rental apps.

  1. Service: Need help getting around the city? A good restaurant? Need more towels or amenities? Need to schedule a wake-up call? Call the reception! They usually know the ins and outs of each neighborhood and can promptly assist you with any kind of request. Having a front desk to call 24/7 makes a huge difference in your stay.
  2. Safety: Hotels are usually located in safe surroundings. They also have surveillance systems, security guards and their staff is trained for emergencies.
  3. Dining options: You can find a complimentary breakfast, room service (total game changer!) and a lot more dining options than at a rental.
  4. Location: Hotels are generally located in city centers or near airports…you just need to choose whether you want to be close to the city or the airport.  You’ll spend less money on transport when choosing a hotel since there will be proximity to public transport.
  5. Standards: Hotels have standards they need to meet up to, especially when it comes to hotel chains. This includes the cleanliness of a room and service.
  6. Hotels are legal: in order for a hotel to function, it needs to abide by a country’s and industry’s law.
  7. Facilities: Most hotels include basic facilities like a pool and gym. Others offer spa services, etc. And when traveling, these facilities are a plus.

That’s it for today. As always let me know your thoughts in the comments below. Now tell me, what do you look for when booking a hotel room?

Cheers, Y’all! 😊

Funny I’m a blogger and do reviews for a living but rarely take a moment to look at ratings and reviews haha!! Well, not for a quick weekend getaway, but yes for a weeklong all-inclusive type vacation!
