Hello babes! How´s Fall (or Autumn for my lovely UK  babes 😉 & Spring for my Aussie babes) rubbing in? I am a huge fan of cooler weather so I´m loving it! (Totally not intended to promote McDonald´s, ok?😂) Today´s topic is about BEAUTY SLEEP!!!! Yay! Cuz who doesn´t like to sleep? Right?

First, let´s define what beauty sleep is: sleep considered to be sufficient to keep one looking young and beautiful. [Definition according to Google.]

Think of sleep as the fountain of youth. Your body repairs itself and recovers while you sleep. Unless we were the Cullen’s or Bella, we all need sleep to function properly. And it’s not just sleeping itself, but also getting sufficient shut-eye – like I need 8-9 hours of sleep to function well unless Y’all want a cranky lady in the mornings. How do I manage to get that amount of sleep….well, I’m not a mom, so I guess that covers it. That said, RESPECT to all you moms! Cuz I know you gals don’t get enough sleep and still do wonders with just 2-5 (sometimes none, like zero, nada) hours of sleep. But I’m here to help you, too and give you my #1 tip for a great beauty sleep.

  5. Productivity boss – yes, getting quality sleep means you’ll be productive. Whether this is at the office, home, school, or just life in general.

How to Get Proper Beauty Sleep?

To sleep or to better sleep, that is the question: whether tis’ to sleep…nope, just kidding, I can’t talk in old English (yet Shakespeare would be so proud of me right now 😁 #yeahright)

Anyway, in order to get good quality sleep (better sleep as noted above), it’s not just about establishing a bedtime routine, having a skincare routine, reducing stress via meditation, using aromatherapy…getting high thread count sheets and pillowcases to avoid any pulling of your skin…hold it, I’m about to make a very important point here: It’s not just having good sheets and pillow cases for anti-aging purposes but also for a GREAT QUALITY BEAUTY SLEEP.

Here’s the thing, all my life, yes, all, and I’m not exaggerating, I’ve always struggled to find good quality sheets. I’ve tried Egyptian cotton, silk, 1,500-thread count, sateen 800-thread count, you name it…and yes, they were soft but failed to give me a good sleep.

  9. I loooove my beauty sleep and how great I feel after a night of NOT sweating. I’m totally the same and will get so hot in the middle of the night and it’s a cycle. These sheets sound so perfect, but we have a Sleep Number bed that’s half split (weird I know) so we have to get special sheets. 🙁 maybe I’ll get these for the guest bed though.     Beauty sleep can be super difficult with a busy schedule but I think that putting my phone away from my bed is the best way to fall asleep faster. When it’s next to my bed the light coming from it and the notice of notifications can definitely be a distraction. But, when it is no longer visible and I can’t tell I am getting any notifications it’s a lot easier. I always try to tell my college age daughter this… I know she has even more trouble than me getting her sleep!

    1. Yes! The blue light from our cell phones greatly disrupts sleep. Experts recommend putting away our phones 1 hour prior to going to bed so that the blue light doesn’t affect our sleep. Also, make sure you leave your cell phone in airplane mode if you have it near you when sleeping, as the radiation the device produces reaches you and affects your sleep and your overall health.   17. For me I’ve noticed how grumpy and unproductive I am when I don’t get my sleep. It’s so hard to function on so little sleep. I’ve noticed aging in my face recenlty and never related it to lack of sleep until now.
